One of the things that is constantly confusing guitarist, old and new alike, is the concept of modes. The truth of the matter is that unless you at least have a solid grasp of the diatonic scale, then trying to understand modes will be very hard.
That being said, I need to remember that as a young, fresh faced, budding guitarist, I also didn’t want to wait. So here is the most simple explanation into the concept of modes that I can provide:
